about the prints

Matthew Shelter's prints are all based on original photographs. They are processed digitally, rather than in a traditional darkroom, using a proprietary process which Matthew has developed over the past several years similar to the older traditional ateliers. All prints are signed, limited editions, with only 25 prints made of each image.

This print was made on an Epson pigmented inkjet printer. The printer sprays pigmented ink through fine nozzles to create a rich, smooth and detailed image. The inks are water resistant; the paper is a specialty archival watercolor paper. Epson inkjet prints on these papers have a projected life of one hundred years.

Prints are available either framed or unframed. Unframed prints are matted using acid-free cotton rag mats, and are enclosed in a clear, polystyrene envelope. Framed prints come matted and framed in a professional-grade matte black wood frame. Other matting, framing, or printing options are available upon request.

The prints should be treated like a fine watercolor original and therefore the prints should be framed under glass using archival materials.
